Joan's Journey
Strategic Change
As educational leaders introduce change to their schools and districts, it is important to keep in the mind the levels of concern that staff and students will experience. Developing an understanding of the Concerns-Based Adoption Model, provided an opportunity to work with an other professional to examine how changes in education are affecting her teaching. As I work with staff to bring the effective use of technology into their teaching, keeping these levels in mind will help to establish appropriate goals and timelines. Staff must be provided time to adjust as they change methodology and learn new technologies.
Although the concept of student portfolios is not a new concept. Using technology makes creating lasting student portfolios more realistic. Below is a diagram demonstrating how a plan to introduce student web portfolios would unfold. Through out the process, it is important to allow for discussion of ideas and promote enthusiasm and collaboration.
